Haiti Update #2 - exciting News!

Haiti Partners,

I have some exciting news about our trip to Calebasse, Haiti: The financial need has been met for Amber and I!

We are very thankful to the Lord for this. Thank you for your donations and prayers to this end.



(In less exciting news…) This last Wednesday, Amber and I went thrift store hunting for team suitcases to take bunches of VBS supplies! We found some winners at Wayside Christian mission for $6/suitcase!
(They are bigger than they look)

Here are 3 ways you help us prepare with prayer this week:

  1. The long drive to/from Lagrange, Ky to the Ft. Lauderdale, FL airport before and after the trip. (safety, no traffic jams, etc
  2. Preparation of our hearts to love Haitians with our actions and words.
  3. Team unity.

Here is a verse you can use in praying for us:
Philippians 1:27 “Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel…”

Photo Credit  People don’t go to church for a lot of reasons, but a Christian without a church is a Christian in trouble. Sadly, the number of professing Christians is far larger than the number who attend weekly meetings. Haiti Trip - Overview

Amber and I are going to Haiti on July 1 st -7 th with 7 other members of Ballardsville Baptist Church (and 1 from another local church).  The trip is led by Brent Gambrell, the President of A Door to Hope Ministries. He has an ongoing ministry presence in Haiti, which takes short-term missionaries to areas of strategic outreach. We will be going to a village called Calebasse (Cal-eh-bass). We know we will be in Calebasse for prayer walking, sharing the gospel, and doing home repair. We don’t know exactly what else we will help with yet, because it could change before July! The possibilities include the building/repair of a church, helping with a pastor’s conference, VBS, or orphanage repair. Much of the work focuses on recovery and repair from the disasters Haiti experienced in 2010 (7.0 earthquake) and 2016 (Hurricane Matthew). June 2020: "Hurry up & Wait"

Family and Friends, This pace of this last month has been "hurry up and wait" because we are just waiting for Wren to come! Our bags are packed and she could decide to come anytime, even as I write this. Here are a few things we have been doing in the meantime: Slushies & Park Walks This picture of My Love is called "mid-bite scowl at unexpected photo" Baby Prep My office is now merely a desk in Wren's room. It's still a mess (because of me), so no pictures for now. (should I be cleaning right now?🤔🤷🏻 )Any tips on where to store a mountain of diapers? I like this persons idea:  Good News Homes A handful of youth had a great service project with Good News Homes. They painted, cleaned, pulled weeds, and mulched like CHAMPS! Somehow I managed to get into poison ivy and chiggers on my right leg.
